Apex Legends Mobile OCTANE Guide, Tips, Abilities & Perks

Complete Octane Guide and how to use it properly in Apex Legends Mobile including Tips and Detailed Info about Abilities and perks.

Each of the legends in Apex Mobile has its special abilities and that is not just limited to what you see in the description page of the Legend. Things go beyond that. Here in this post, you’re going to get a complete picture of Octane including how to use it properly. As an Octane main character in Apex Legends Mobile since its very first beta I’m also excited to talk about it.

Octane (Apex Legends Mobile)

Very first topic which comes first into play is why Octane? Why would you refuse to accept the benefits of other legends and choose it, why reject Bloodhound’s eye to see through walls, reject teleportation of wraith, and so on.

Just like the character’s love for speed, running all over the map quickly, as it is attractive to rush to the firing zones, running away from the enemies can be vital as much. As already said, Octane is not limited to that, as we go on, we will get to learn it deeply.

Let’s take a look at it’s ABILITIES first -

Swift Mend

Restore health over time, while not taking damage. This is a passive skill, which means you don’t need to tap anything to activate it.

As the active ability stim takes away a good chunk of health, this passive ability of Octane regenerates health over time. Very much helpful when you don’t have any health kit, you can wait, and slowly your health bar gets full. You carry less amount of Syringe and even Medkit, while watching your teammates keep patching up small chunks of health, you just relax at that.

Stim (Tactical)

This is an active ability, which means you need to tap on this skill to activate it if it’s not in the cooldown phase.

This makes you fast, like 60% increase at sprint speed and 30% at walk speed for 6 seconds. That’s it, you use it to run away or run in, use it to enhance your apex movements, or just to run all over the map, that’s up to you. The cooldown time is very low - 2 seconds so just enjoy it although it will keep taking a bit of health away from you, so if you keep using it rapidly you’re more fragile to enemies but here is the fun fact. When health is too low, like 10%, it won’t cost you health anymore. So that’s where the fun begins, if you are already low, you can keep using it to run away or just run then use a medkit to get full

Remember while it won’t cost any more health, the red zone can make you zero or bullets as usual. So sometimes in the zones, it’s not a clever move to use stim.

Jump Pad

Deploy a jump pad that anyone can use including opponents. This jump pad throws you to the air and while in the air you can perform another jump. There’re many ways to take advantage of it, travel long distances, take the high ground, get some time in the air, or just simply vanish from enemy eyes. Here is not much to say about it, as you can imagine how it can be beneficial. You can save the second jump to deviate from the momentum direction or keep the momentum and travel longer.

Something to remember is that, when you are trying to escape from the enemy, you should know they can also use that jump pad you deployed and easily catch you, so after landing makes sure to hide/ run properly before healing if necessary.

Perks :

Exclusive to Mobile as of now, you can unlock perks for each legend, to get some extra benefits.

Perks have 3 categories -

1) General (Total 3 can be equipped together)

Dying Dose: Any health item will give an additional 25 HP when you’re below 50 to heal while healing.

Slow Acting Batterysher : Recover shield points every second when you are out of battle.

Stress: When the body shield is totally shattered, you get a movement speed increment for 3s.

Restless: If you are out of the safe zone, you get a 10% speed boost.

Push Python: After using the jump tower, you get an additional 30% flight speed

2) Finishers (Total 1 at a time)

Final Thrill: When you finish an enemy (with finisher) your shield is fully restored, additionally you get a 30% reduced cooldown for your ultimate.

Evolutionary Explosion: When you take down an enemy with a finisher, not just your shield is fully restored, you get additional 100 Evo points (You get Evo points by doing damage, which makes you level up your armor)

3) Ability (Total 1, not available as of soft launch phase)

What perks to using, these perks are pretty self-explanatory still for the general perks, I use -

Slow Acting Batterysher : Recover shield points every second when you are out of battle.

Stress: When the body shield is totally shattered, you get a movement speed increment for 3s.

&

Restless: If you are out of the safe zone, you get a 10% speed boost.

For Finishers I Use - Evolutionary Explosion: When you take down an enemy with a finisher, not just your shield is fully restored, you get additional 100 Evo points

Octane Tips

While Octane has comparably low hitbox size (Harder to hit octane) and high movement speed, it is also good for rushing and quickly escaping from the hot zone. You can grab dead teammate banners and escape to a safe respawn point like no other Legend in  Apex Mobile. A jump pad is used not just to travel distances but also to take the high ground and build rooftops.

Similarly for the stim, not just to travel distances, you can enhance your movement which would make it harder to get hit. That means you do movements but when you do movements with stim, the momentum is greatly increased hence your movement is enhanced as well but to remember it costs health.

One of the common mistakes is that when you use the jump pad to get away from enemies and then you quickie started to heal, forgetting the enemy also jumped and stalking you, while you have stim to move further which they don’t have unless he is octane.
